Term 2020-22 of Team SJOBA got off to a resounding start with a first of its kind Teacher's Day Celebrations organized over a dual platform of Zoom & What's App.
The event designed & coordinated by OB Vivek Sood & ably supported by OB Abhishek Mishra, required a lot of planning & brain storming, first amongst the executive & later with the school management. We are extremely grateful to the Principal Kavita Das Ma'am as well as the school coordinators for their support, time & valuable inputs towards making the event possible.
Appreciation hampers were home delivered to each of the 109 teachers & support staff of St.Johns. A meticulous & detailed distribution chart was prepared by the youngsters OB Anuj Bansal & OB Danish Mangat whereby the entire executive took upon itself the onerous but pleasurable task of delivering these hampers, complying strictly with the prescribed social distancing norms.
The hamper included some nibbles, few drinks, discount coupons, customized Face Masks and Umbrellas, in school colours. It also included a potted plant (courtesy batch '72)
The main event was preceded by two trial sessions, one with team leaders on the 3rd & the other with all participants on the 4th, to ensure that both the organizers as well as the participants were comfortable with the platform & well versed with the format.
The celebrations on the 5th saw a full house with all teachers, including the principal, joining in. We also had close to 40 SJOBA members, including a few Past Presidents, logging in to be a part of the fun & merriment.
The event started with Mac Sir (Founder president) Kavita Das, Ma'am (Principal) & Sampat Singh (President) addressing the gathering, from where the participants were taken through a fun filled & exciting 3 hour journey.
The activities included 2 rounds of Tambola, multiple audio & visual rounds of Antakshari & some interesting Fun Challenges thrown in. The teachers not to be left behind added their own spice to the celebrations with songs, shayari & dance moves. The event was brought to a close with a vote of thanks.
A day to be remembered, truly!
