The Sh. Ram Parkash Raquet Tournament-2017 was held at the St. Johns High School, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The Raquet Tournament is the first sporting event, which is held by SJOBA during the calendar of events. The tournament is sponsored each year by Old Boy Mr. Ranjan Chawla, in the fond memory of his father, Mr. Ram Parkash.

The event is host to a considerable number of promising players, who have over number of years mastered their strokes, while regularly playing this tournament itself. All matches were very competitive, with stiff competition between the teams. Though, the tournament (except in the mixed doubles category), is played between the Old Boys. Nevertheless, age is not a barrier for these Old Boys, who display remarkable stamina, strength, speed and precision with their shots. The spectators stayed glued to their seats and did not miss a second of nail-biting matches throughout the tournament, which saw some extremely subtle strokes and extraordinary smashes.

Winner: Animesh Sharma/Kenneth Wong

Runner-up : Vivek Sood/Sameer Gupta

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the school auditorium, where the winners, participants, umpires were honoured by the Guest of Honor, Mr. Ranjan Chawla and Past President-Mr. Rakesh Walia and Star Veteran Player, Mr. S.P.S. Garcha. Amongst those who graced the occasion were proud families of the players, past Presidents and the entire SJOBA Team in full strength.
